OPTIMIST CLUBS OF HALTON & LOGICS ACADEMY sponsor free ROBOTICS WORKSHOPS FOR HALTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS

The Optimist Clubs of Oakville, Burlington, Milton, and Halton Hills together with Logics Academy are offering a free after school learning opportunity on Wednesday, May 2nd from 4:15 to 6:15 at St Ignatius of Loyola Secondary School, 1550 Nottinghill Gate, Oakville, ON L6M 1S2. This hands-on training is designed for elementary school teachers who teach Kindergarten to Grade 5. There will be amazing prizes given away at the end of this fabulous event, sponsored by the Optimist Clubs and Logics Academy - including one full set of 3 robots, the charging station, all the accessories and the full online curriculum. You must be there to win! Teachers will also be able to receive a discount code exclusively from their local Optimist Club. A special thank you to the Halton Catholic District School Board who provided the space and the refreshments for this event.

Dash & Dot

This event will have 2 workshops on how to utilize Dash & Dot in the classroom for Science, Technology, Engineering, English and Math. Dash and Dot come with a full Ministry of Education approved curriculum. 

If you are an elementary school teacher with the Halton District School Board please register here to attend this free workshop. If you are with the Halton Catholic District School Board you can register via the School Board. Teachers will have hands-on access to Dash and Dot and will learn innovative ways to include them in class projects and with the available curriculum.

Optimist Clubs and Logics Academy ran a similar event for elementary school teachers in London, Ontario for 70 teachers. It was a great event for everyone who attended. The photo at left is from that event. The video below is a great introduction to Dash and Dot.
