Oak Park Junior optimist Club
Our newest JOI Club in Oakville for students in
Grades 6 to 8
The Oak Park Junior Optimist Club (Grades 6 to 8) is now officially chartered as of May 18th, 2017. Any Oakville student in Grade 6 to 8 is welcome to join. Meetings take place on the first and third Thursdays of each month at Oak Park Neighborhood Centre from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. Similar to the Junior Optimist Club of Oakville, members will elect their own executive each year and will be mentored by Adult Oakville Optimist Club members. They also give back to the community via projects to support children in Oakville, and work on Personal Development Plans to achieve Optimist International JOI medallions.

Did you know that many College and University Scholarships now require hundreds if not a 1,000 volunteer hours? You can start accumulating these hours in this JOI Club. Every meeting and all project hours count. Plus club meeting attendance and participating in projects count towards your Optimist International Personal Development plan for which you earn beautiful Bronze, Silver and Gold medallions. The Club is already planning projects they want to do. So join us to make a difference in your community and have fun. You will meet students from other schools. Together we all can make a difference.
