Our Annual Christmas Tree Sales (2025)

Thank you to all of those who bought Christmas trees from our tree lot this year. Another successful campaign as we sold out last night (Dec 11th) and the tree lot was packed up this morning.
Looking forward to 2026. Happy holidays to all.

Each year, for over 40 years we run the best Christmas Tree Lot in Oakville at Dorval Crossing East, just north of the McDonalds. We have worked with the same local nursery (Somerville nurseries in Everett Ontario) all these years, and their trees are beautiful and freshly cut.The Christmas Tree lot will open on Saturday, November 22nd at noon. Our trees are the freshest, and all money raised is used to assist and support children and youth in our community. Trees will sell out quickly, so if you are looking for a gorgeous, healthy tree - please come as the soon as you can to purchase your tree.
We are open every day of the week as follows, until we sell out.
Monday to Wednesday:              Noon until 6 pm
Thursday & Friday:             Noon until 9 pm

Benefits from Tree Sales

We received this lovely email from one of our customers last year:
Message Subject: Christmas Tree
Message Text: Good morning, I just wanted to send this quick note to let you know how wonderful the Xmas tree I purchased from you guys has been! It's January 8th and the tree  looks amazing. What a shame it must come down! Oh, the benefits of purchasing our tree from you and a local tree farmer!

We were so happy to receive this. Most of our trees are between 6 and 9 feet tall, although we do receive a few smaller and a few taller, and they sell quickly. In addition, the revenue from Optimists selling Christmas trees stays here in Oakville to help children and youth - through events, programs, contests, scholarships and bursaries. So in many ways, it is a purchase that keeps on giving.

The Three Types of Christmas Trees We Sell

Fraser Fir

The most popular Xmas tree is the Fraser Fir, a subspecies of the Balsalm Fir. It has soft, short needles and will stay fresh and fragrant throughout the season.

Balsalm Fir

This tree is similar to the Fraser Fir. Their needles have two colours on top and bottom, adding shades of silver to a dark green tree. The branches are a bit more flexible than a Fraser Fir, so keep your ornaments light. They retain their splenfor, fragrance and needles very well.

Scotch Pine

This tree is also know as a Scots Pine. The needles as a grayish blue-green to a dark green. Their needles are longer than fir tree needles and are in bunches on the tree branches. It has a different look than a fir tree.

Looking After Your Christmas Tree

Most Christmas Trees can last five weeks or more if taken care of properly. When you purchase a Tree from us, we will make a fresh cut across the base of the trunk, to aid water absorption. This also gets rid of any dried over resin, which might block the tree from absorbing water.

Make sure your tree always has enough water, and check it daily. The water should always cover the cut end of the trunk. Refill as needed and then there is no need to add any additives to the water, according to experts.
If you lower the heat in the room, it will slow down the drying process and the tree will need a bit less water, according to the National Christmas Tree Association.

The Optimist Club of Oakville thank you for your support and wish you a very happy Holiday Season!
